Mediators Beyond Borders Oceania participated in the Research Development Impact Network Pathways Through Disruption Conference held in July 2021. Of our members who are actively engaged in environment and sustainability matters joined in a panel to explore issues related to conflict engagement in this field. The session was moderated by Claire Holland at James Cook University and our panel was populated with experts and practitioners from within our membership. This video provides some valuable insights for conflict engagement specialists operating in the climate environment and sustainability field.
Is there a more strategic or existential question than asking how we can sustain our existence in perpetuity without destroying our resource base and each other? The trade-off costs of every decision made needs to be reconciled with the expectations of the community they impact if the outcome is to be sustainable.
