We employ a dynamic committee mechanism to achieve goals that have a regional impact. Committees are dynamic and exist to meet and fulfil specific needs, some are to address short-term and transitory projects and others clearly have an enduring character. Our committees are a way all members can engage, contribute and gain reward.
The Steering Committee facilitates member engagement and foster active participation in the organisation’s activities. It acts as a conduit between the Board of Directors and the membership, promoting communication, collaboration, and the development of initiatives that align with the organisation's mission to support sustainable conflict management and peaceful processes in the Oceania region.
The Committee’s key responsibilities include:
Facilitating regular communication with members to understand their interests, concerns, and ideas.
Developing strategies and programs to increase member engagement and participation.
Organising member events, workshops, and forums in collaboration with relevant sub-committees.
Advising the Board on member-related issues and providing feedback on organisational activities.
Promoting volunteer opportunities and pathways for member contributions.
Ensuring all engagement initiatives align with the organisation’s strategic goals and values.

The "Training and Capabilities" focus area is dedicated to supporting members in developing and enhancing their skills through various training opportunities. It aims to create a collaborative environment where members can both receive and provide training, fostering continuous growth. It encourages the sharing of valuable content, along with mentorship, and peer learning. The goal is to provide ongoing learning experiences, including co-designing specialized training for different contexts, with active member involvement in shaping the future of training initiatives.

The Experiential Learning Working Area of Focus is focused on bridging the gap between knowing at an intellectual level and doing. We are looking at the ways to share learning about strategies and approaches used by dispute resolution practitioners and peacemakers through experiencing them via visits, co-mediation, simulations and reflection.
